Our
Philosophy |
 |
Animal
Testing
We do not use any ingredients derived from
animals except honey and goat milk which are products naturally
produced by animals without causing them harm. We do not test our
products on animals but on human volunteers who suffer from a wide
variety of skin conditions. Feedback from our customers is valued
and welcome.
Fair Trade
We support the FairTrade principles and
believe that peoples' labour deserves a fair price. We do not knowingly
source our raw materials from any company that exploits its own
suppliers or workforce.
Herbalism
We work closely with qualified and registered
medical herbalists in formulating our products. The knowledge that
mankind has amassed over centuries about plants and their healing
actions is a valuable legacy from many different cultures and traditions.
However, we strongly recommend that anyone with a health problem
that is seeking an alternative remedy, should contact a medical
herbalist or other qualified healthcare practitioner. This is particularly
important for anyone considering taking herbs internally as some
may have contraindications with pregnancy, other medications and
other medical conditions. |
Organic
Ingredients
Wherever possible we use organic herbs
and oils. This means that the plants have not been adulterated with
pesticides or other farming chemicals and are certified organic
by a reputable body, such as The Soil Association. Wildcrafted herbs
that are not farmed are tested for chemical residues and rejected
if found to contain them.
Returns Policy
We will always return a product that you
are not satisfied with. Please go to the feedback page for a returns
form and the returns address.
Waste Management
We recycle as much of our waste as possible,
such cartons, cardboard, bubble wrap and plastic buckets. We do
not dispose of any of our waste in a way that is irresponsible or
knowing harmful to the environment. Our manufacturing processes
do not produce any by-products that need to be disposed of.
Wildcrafting
Some of the herbs we use are collected
from the wild or 'wildcrafted' and sourced from reputable companies
with good reputations for environmental management and who conduct
quality control testing. We avoid using endangered species. |
|
We believe that skin complaints are inextricably
linked to the environment that we live in.
Our skin is sensitive to pollution, artificial
ingredients in skin care products and textiles, poor diet, water
treatment chemicals, dust and other by-products of modern living.
We are committed to producing simple, natural,
vegetable based products that are as additive-free as possible.
And while we also try to have as little negative
impact on the environment as we can, we also actively seek to enhance
it wherever we have the opportunity. |
